Krabill, White, Radford score at Nightfire Nationals

Kris Krabill scored his second straight Funny Car crown at the 38th Annual Pepsi Nightfire Nationals at Firebird Raceway. Driving Gary Turner’s Pedaler Arrow, Krabill nailed a 5.95-241.48 to defeat Bucky Austin who finished at 6.16-217.18 to win the 16-car Hot Rod Heritage Series stop. During qualifying, Garrett Bateman established a new track record 5.85 (to lead all qualifiers) and Steve Macklyn set the speed mark at 242.13.
In the AA/Fuel Dragster final, Rick White saved his best for last, ripping off a 5.70-254.45 for low e.t. and top speed of the meet. He beat the defending Nightfire winner Jim Murphy who slowed to a 6.74-144.43.
Dennis Radford swept the Pro Modified class. Driving his `70 Duster, Radford pedaled to a winning 7.07-190.59 to stop Billy Harper. Earlier in the event Radford set low e.t. at 6.19 and a new track speed record of 231.24.
The National Dragster Challenge 4-Night Bracketeer Point’s Champions included: Bracketeer Champ-Michael Zimmerman, Pro-Troy Pecht, Heavy-Dave Wilson, and Pro Snow/Bike-Rich Pedraza.
